EARLE, William Everett

Thursday, June 25, 1998
EARLE, William Everett
In loving memory. December 23, 1930-June 23, 1998. Bill Earle, a resident of R. R. # 1 Mindemoya, Manitoulin Island, died peacefully at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, June 23, 1998 at the age of 67 years. He was born in Cornwall, son of the late Everett and Hughena (Enid) (MacDougall) Earle. Bill had graduated from the U of T in 1953 with a degree in forestry, and had worked in this field for the Saskatchewan government until 1956. He then worked for Bell Canada from 1956 until 1986, when he retired, and moved to the Island in 1987 from Ottawa. Bill renewed his first love of forestry by planting thousands of trees and managing his sugar bush. He thoroughly enjoyed nature and was able to recognize and identify most birds by their sound and trees and vegetation by their appearance. Bill was a loving and caring, husband, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He will be sadly missed, but many happy memories will be cherished. Bill was a member of the United Church and sang in the Island Singers. Dearly beloved husband and best friend of Jane (Edgar) Earle of Mindemoya. Loving and caring brother of Richard and his wife Jeannette Earle of Caracas, Venezuela; brother-in-law of Rev. Graham Scott and his wife Cynthia of Port Colborne; and L. Col. Dan Edgar and his wife Wendy of Winnipeg. Loved uncle of nephews Bill, Roddie, Raymond and nieces Sarah, Courtney and Kathleen. Friends may call at the Mindemoya United Church on Friday, June 26, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted at the Church on Saturday, June 27, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Mary Jo Eckert Tracy officiating. The interment will take place at St. Lawrence Union Cemetery, Cornwall on Monday, June 29, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Terry Dunlop officiating. If so desired, donations may be made to the Mindemoya Hospital Building Fund or the Mindemoya United Church. Culgin Funeral Home 705-282-2270, 1-888-213-9901
